yes. there are so many and it’s irrelevant.

2) The Exorcist (The Original)
3) Orphan
4) Thrillers.
They tend to have a deeper storyline instead of just having a killer murdering people for no apparent reason.
5) The Family from The Strangers.
Alot of people didn’t like this movie, but I personally thought it was one of the best slasher films of all time. Maybe even one of the best horror films of all time in general. It’s scary because there’s no buildup or hinting of The Family showing up. They just arrive at the house at 4 in the morning looking for a woman named Tamra. The movie never reveals to Tamra is, or even why The Family suddenly started trying to kill the newlyweds. And I think that’s why it’s so scary.
6) Final Destination.
As a movie in general, I’m not a big fan of FD. But Friday the 13th was basically just another slasher movie that happened to become alot more famous than some of the other ones. Final Destination has an interesting concept, but it’s pretty much just a gorefest.
7) Yes.
Back in the day, scary movies focused on the main thing, and they were leginimately scary.
A perfect example of what horror movies have turned into today would be Rob Zombie’s Halloween remake. The original was WAY more scary because of the mysterious element to Michael Myers, but he just turned it into a gorefest.
