please help me come to terms?
i have brilliant friends thank god who have supported me greatly through this difficult time yesterday i had broken up with my bf of 3yrs who i was engaged too, he lives in italy originally from ghana has all his papers no problem to live as he came on a family visit mum is italian citzen he will just be getting his indefinate leave to remain in italy where as the mom is coming to uk to live, he broke up with me because of money. what had happened is this…he is only a resident in italy so he has a ghana passport not an italian one so he has to get a visa to travel to the uk, he never had problems to visit the uk whilst he was before me and with me .
i was supposed to be giving rent money to my mom every month which was ?200 but my mum suggested since we were getting married and we needed to be finanically secure and needed bank statements to show financial support available she suggested putting the money in the bank until we reached say 4000.00 pounds, which was fine my bf was going through some financial difficullity so i borrowed some of that money which he knew about to help him and i said i wud have to pay the money back to my mum, now coz we were waiting and his documents got delayed in ghana to say he never been married before i said i have to start paying the money back it had created a massive confusion between me and him and he was saying that he didnt agree that i have to pay every last drop of the money back so we argued and then yesterday he decided to break it off because a) i told my mum wat he had said b) because he dont have money to support to do marriage and documentation and visa processing he said its best to call it a day and it has waited 3yrs to do that as we been together that amount of time i have to say i am hurt by this but want to know how to single ppl come to terms and gain to move on
i have to say this i am really hurt as it shown me that his love wasnt strong enough to by pass this situation i wud have waited or sorted something out if he i knew he never had a single penny but he never obviously wanted to tell me also i always supported him in the relationship yet he also was negative and never seemed to understand me well he always was creating problems i always advised him to start saving never did he want to listen and he thinks its ok to break it up because he doesnt have money to do everything i even said to him that by aug i would have paid everyting i owe to my mum and he told his mum that i wanted him in uk by aug so he clearly misunderstood completely. so now i have excepted that we have broken up and its his lost
I think it’s the best thing what has happen to you, forget him and make a fresh start, I think he only needed you to get a foothold over here, it shows what kind of person he is, borrowing money, and then start and argument with you about it for paying it back, and worst thing of all, dumping you, like I said he has done you a big favour, time heals wounds, not matter how big they are, good luck for the future.
